For Employers

Six CVs. None of them right.

That is what most agencies call a shortlist. We work the other way round. One conversation about what you actually need, then a shortlist of two or three engineers who fit the work, the team and the way you run your practice. More than half our placements are for clients who have hired through us before.

Candidate-led

Vacancy-led

Four things that shape every introduction.

Clear terms. No surprises.
  1. 01

    Civil and structural only

We don't recruit outside the disciplines we understand.

  2. 02

    Mid-level and above

Engineers who can carry work, not graduates you'll need to build.

  3. 03

    SEQ and Northern NSW

Sunshine Coast to Brisbane to the Gold Coast, and across the border.

  4. 04

    One point of contact

You deal with the person doing the work, every time.

Why owner-led consultancies use us

Brief a generalist agency on a senior structural role and you get back CVs that could have gone to anyone. They cover engineering as one of a dozen sectors, so they screen on keywords rather than on whether someone can do the work.

We only recruit civil and structural, only in Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales. That narrowness is the point. We know which consultancies are growing, who is unhappy where, and what a designer or engineer at your level is genuinely worth, because we have those conversations every single day.

How we work

How a search actually runs.

Five steps, and you will know where things stand at every one of them.

Enquiry

A proper conversation about the role, the team and the work, not a job description emailed over. Usually 30 minutes, and it saves weeks.

Shortlist

Two or three engineers we would put our name to, each with a written reason they fit. If we can't find them, we tell you that instead of padding the list.

Referencing and testing

Checked before you see them, not after you have made an offer.

Offer management

We handle the counter-offer conversation, because that is where most placements are lost.

Post Placement

We stay in contact with both sides after they start. Most of our repeat work comes from getting this part right.

Our patch

We recruit two disciplines. That is the whole point.

Civil and structural, mid-level and above, across Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales. Everything outside that, we say no to - which is why we can be useful inside it.

Explore the Disciplines

Civil

Land development, subdivision, roads and highways, water and wastewater, stormwater and drainage, utilities and infrastructure.

Structural

Buildings from high-rise to residential, industrial, bridges, facades, remedial, temporary works and heavy structures.

Roles we are working on

The roles we are working on right now.

Every one of these is live and briefed. If you are hiring and want to see the level of engineer we are talking to, this is the honest version of it.

What's included

What is included as standard.

Not a menu of extras. This is what every search gets, whether it starts with your brief or with someone we already know.

  • Six month replacement guarantee

Standard on every permanent placement, not sold as an upgrade.

  • Fee spread over three months

You don't have to carry it in one hit.

  • Introductions that actually tell you something

Not a CV with a covering line. A written brief on why this engineer fits this role, this team and the way you work.

  • References taken and recorded before you meet them

Not chased after you've made an offer.

  • Hear them before you meet them

Every interview we do is recorded. Where communication or client-facing ability matters, we can share a short clip with the engineer's permission, so you're judging how someone actually comes across rather than how they read on paper.

  • The offer and counter-offer handled

That's where most placements are lost, and it's not your job to manage it.

Nothing here is charged separately. The fee is agreed in writing before the search begins.

Brief us on a role

If it doesn't work out, that's our problem

Every permanent placement carries a six month replacement guarantee as standard. Not three, not "negotiable", not buried in the terms. If the engineer leaves inside six months, we find you another one at no further fee, and if we can't, the fee for that placement is held on your account and comes off your next one.

Six months is long enough to know whether a hire has worked. We would rather carry that risk than talk you into someone we aren't sure about.

Tell us about the role

Tell us about the role.

The more context you give us here, the more useful the first conversation is. If you would rather just talk it through, book ten minutes instead.

  • What the team is missing, not just the job title
  • The projects the person would actually work on
  • Salary range, or the range you are willing to test

Paste it in, type it out, or give us the shape of it. There is no file upload here yet.

Search Candidates

Some of the best engineers we know are not applying to anything.

They are heads-down on a project, doing good work, and open to the right conversation if it finds them. When one of them fits what you are building, we will tell you why before we tell you who.

  • Available now, or open to the right conversation
  • Capability and motivations, before any name
  • Introduced only where the fit is real
Discuss Your Hiring Needs

Every profile is shared with the engineer's permission. Nothing reaches you that they have not agreed to.

Common questions

What does it cost?
A percentage of the engineer's first year salary and superannuation, plus GST. One rate, one set of terms, everything above included, and nothing to pay until someone starts. We'll give you the number on the first call.
How long does it take?
For a well-defined role at mid-level or above, expect a shortlist inside two weeks. Some senior structural and 12D roles take longer because the people who can do them are already employed and not looking.
What if they leave?
You're covered by a six month replacement guarantee. If we can't replace them, the fee is held on your account against your next hire.
Do you do contract or labour hire?
Most of what we do is permanent. If you would rather see someone work before you commit, we can place an engineer on a fixed-term contract and convert them to permanent if it goes well. That depends on the engineer being available now and open to that route, which not everyone is, so it is a conversation rather than a switch we can flip. We do not do labour hire.
Do you recruit outside civil and structural?
No. It's the reason we're any good at civil and structural.
